Deleting your account and data
You can delete your DiaryOnce account and all the data linked to it at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Delete in the app
The app is currently in Turkish; the Turkish names of the buttons are shown in parentheses.
- Open DiaryOnce and go to the My Account (Hesabım) tab at the bottom.
- In the Security and data (Güvenlik ve veri) section, tap Delete account (Hesabı sil).
- Type SİL (Turkish for “delete”) in the confirmation field.
- Tap Delete account permanently (Hesabı kalıcı olarak sil) and confirm once more with your Google account for security.
If you want to keep your entries, export them from Settings > Data (Ayarlar > Veri) before deleting. They can't be recovered after deletion.
What gets deleted
- Your Google sign-in information (your name and email address): deleted from Firebase Authentication right away.
- All the entries on your phone, with their titles, moods and your app settings: deleted right away.
What remains
- DiaryOnce has no server that keeps your entries, so no entries remain on a server.
- Records of your Premium purchases are kept by Google Play under Google's own rules. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription: if you have a monthly or yearly plan, cancel it separately in Google Play > Subscriptions.
- Backup files you exported earlier stay where you saved them; you delete those yourself.
- If Android's automatic backup is on, the app backup in your Google account is managed by Google; you can delete it in your phone's Google backup settings.
If you can't access the app
If you lost your phone or can no longer open the app, send an email with the subject “Account deletion request” to support@diaryonce.com from the email address of the Google account you used with DiaryOnce. Your sign-in information will be deleted within 30 days, and you'll be notified. Since the entries on your phone exist only on that phone, uninstalling the app deletes them too.
